March 20, 2007 on the University of Wisconsin-Richland campus in Richland Center
The Southwest Wisconsin BEST (Building Economic Strength Together) Conference, on the University of Wisconsin-Richland campus in Richland Center, and it was a great event! "Building Economic Strength Together: Let's Do It!" was the title of the keynote address presented by Jim Heckmann, a consultant, attorney, and owner of a firm that facilitates strategic planning, organizational development, and process improvement. His topic was how to create an action plan that's specific, measurable, and attainable. A range of breakout sessions focused on: preparing our future workforce, creating a community vision, inventing new business, fueling new directions in agriculture, developing critical thinkers, and creating development though the arts. Participants opt for two sessions of their choice. "Are You Connected? Using a Community-Based Website to Promote Your Business or Program" was the title of the luncheon address by Ralph Kluseman from SWWisconsin.com. The BEST Conference provided an oppoortunity to connect with community leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, business owners, educators, government officials, and economic development professionals and to gather resources to promote your ideas and economic endeavors. Those attending received information and help in how to achieve their goals. Photos by Ralph Kluseman. |
